Position Summary
This key position in one of our account teams is embedded in the challenges of the current payments landscape and client responses to a complex and rapidly changing market. New entrants and government regulation are commoditizing transaction accounts, disintermediating banks with consumers looking elsewhere for innovation. The ability to nimbly implement innovative customer solutions in this complex environment will require that Visa develop a deeper and more expanded support model.
The Senior Program Director will play a critical role in Visa’s ability to deepen its relationship with its clients and to deliver on strategic elements and to tactically ‘get things done.’

The Senior Program Director is responsible for excellence in delivering Visa’s innovation activities within the client. The role requires strong commercial, technology and project expertise to understand Visa’s and the client’s systems, operating environment and implementation methodology. The role will work closely with Client Relationship Management, Product, CSS, Risk and Innovation experts both locally and globally to deliver quality project outcomes.

Responsibilities

Additional Responsibilities, in conjunction with Visa Strategy and EP&I Product teams:
Establish and manage the project financial budgets and ensure projects are delivered to agreed budgetary commitments.
Build business cases and secure regional or global resources when required.
Anticipate and prepare for future business needs based on resource load and performance data.

Portfolio Reporting
Maintain the project register, dashboards and ensure project status reporting is timely and accurate.
Produce a fortnightly portfolio executive summary and fortnightly business review dashboard – for both internal Visa as well as client distribution
Use reporting tools to monitor portfolio activities, and regularly brief business leadership on portfolio performance.
Packaging and communicating the portfolio plan including the tracking and measurement of results.
Define and assess risks in the project portfolio. Evaluate and assess risk as part of the life cycle analysis of the portfolio components.
Automate and continuously improve project level reporting to make it consistent across Visa.
Effectively lead internal and external meetings, delivering presentations to all levels of staff and clients

Primary Responsibilities Will Include

Accountability for the management, governance and prioritization of the innovation initiatives with the client
Develop, prioritize, coordinate and communicate the goals and processes necessary for implementing the portfolio of projects
Facilitate workshops to design and document project requirements
Develop and deliver internal and external training
Ensure compliance with Visa product delivery requirements, processes and tools.
Project staffing, resource setting and dependency management
Work with subject matter experts to fully understand project requirements
Arbitrate and negotiate resolution of any project resource conflicts based on project priority as well as the client’s priority.
Assist building organizational agility by focusing on scenario planning

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management / Business Administration (or similar academic experience required)
Formal certification in project management with a minimum of 5 years successful project management experience.
Demonstrated high competency in the execution of multiple large projects.
Demonstrated experience in managing resources to meet goals across multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to influence diverse groups of professionals that have expertise in different domains.
Ability to translate technical opportunities and issues into business impacts and vice versa
Experience using project and portfolio management tools.
Strong customer service orientation, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication to present complex technical information to a diverse audience.
Ability to work and adapt in a dynamic environment and recognize priority issues, escalating accordingly.
Ability to track tasks and develop a statement of work (SOW).
Ability to work both independently and in a team, with time constraints.
Knowledge and experience of multiple project development methodologies, Waterfall, Agile etc.
Excellent leadership capability is critical to gaining respect of business lines; the role will involve influencing other leaders.
Strong persuasion and influence capabilities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications including Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook.
Experience in a global business environment preferred.
Ability to travel in Australia as required. Potential travel to Singapore and/or the U.S. (Visa CA)
Proven ability to work under pressure and drive integrations to completion
Experience working directly with customers
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
